So you've decided you'd like to learn more about improv... this is your answer! Games and exercises will teach you all about the basics of acting without a script. You'll learn how to live in the moment without fear, how to function without costumes, props, or sets, and how to have fun in a creative way. You'll still get the chance to perform every other month, and you'll still get all the other great class benefits! Tuition for this class is $30 a month, and there's a limit of 10 people in Level One.

Starting Aug. 14, 2010: How to Portray Humans (Level 1A): Saturdays, 11:00am-1:00pm (sign up today!)

A handy class where you'll learn the finer points of using facial expression, body posture, movement, and vocal subtlety to convey the emotion you're feeling.

The Arnold (Level Two): Saturdays, 1:30pm-4:00pm (Four spots remain in this class!)
Robot Parade (Level Two): Mondays, 6:30pm-9:00pm  (One spot remains in this class!)

It's like an acting class without those pesky scripts! Through classes at the Roving Imp Training Center, you'll learn how to give your characters emotional connections, quick thinking, appropriate reactions, movement, presence, and all the other topics you would find in other acting classes, only it six times easier because there's no memorization. Feedback is immediate, targeted, focused, and above all, constructive. This class studies short form improv games and intensive scenework to improve technique. 

Level 3 (Level Three): Wednesdays, 6pm-8pm  (Four spots remain in this class!)

This class will focus on techniques that go beyond mere character studies and pantomime. We'll explore different ways to think about scenes, next-level scenic transitions, being hawk-like in pattern identification, and finding art in the mundane. If you're ready to separate yourself from the pack, this is the class for you.


Unless otherwise stated above, the following information applies to all classes: Limit 10 participants each. Performances take place once per month, and students start performing after 4-8 classes. Tuition is $60 per month, with a reduction in tuition for each person you bring to your monthly show. You get a month of free tuition by bringing just five people to your show.
